STEPS IN CREATING ANDY WARHOL EFFECT



CREATING
ANDY WARHOL EFFECT
IN ADOBE PHOTOSHOP.

THE STEPS

  1. File >> New >> A4 Landscape (Resolution : 150)
  2. File >> Open …. Drag n drop to our A4 workspace.
  3. Polygonal Lasso Tool à crop the object, erase the background.
  4. Image >> Mode >> GRAYSCALE.
  5. Duplicate layer (Rename the new layer: HAIR; the original layer : FACE)
[work with HAIR layer]
  1. Image>>Adjustment>> Levels
  2. Turn off eye-icon of HAIR layer.
[work with FACE layer]
  1. Image>>Adjustment>> Levels
  2. Turn on eye-icon of HAIR layer.
[work with HAIR layer]
  1. Eraser Tool (200 px) à Erase the face area.
[still work with HAIR layer]
  1. Image>>Mode >> RGB.
  2. Pick colour #1 (example: orange)
  3. Create a new layer, rename : FOREGROUND.
[work with FOREGROUND layer]
  1. Paint-bucket Tool à Fill this layer with colour #1.
  2. Blending Option : “ Multiply ”.
  1. Create a new layer, rename : HAIR-2.
  2. Turn off eye-icon of FOREGROUND layer.
[work with HAIR-2 layer]
  1. Brush Tool (312 px)
  2. Pick colour #2 (example : yellow)
  3. Brush the hair area of the image.
  4. Blending Option : “Multiply”.
  1. Create a new layer, rename : FACE-2.
  2. Turn off eye-icon of HAIR-2 layer.
[work with FACE-2 layer]
  1. Brush Tool (171 px).
  2. Pick colour #3 (example : pink)
  3. Brush the face area of the image.
  4. Blending Option : “ Multiply “.
  1. Turn off eye-icon of FACE-2 layer.
  2. Turn on eye-icon of FOREGROUND layer.
[work with FOREGROUND layer]
  1. Eraser Tool à Erase the face area on this layer.
  1. Turn on eye-icon of HAIR-2 layer.
[work with HAIR-2 layer]
  1. Magic Wand Tool à Select everything outside the coloured-hair area.
  2. Select>>Inverse.
[work with FOREGROUND layer]
  1. Delete.
  1. Turn on eye-icon of FACE-2 layer.
[work with HAIR-2 layer]
  1. Eraser Tool à Erase the over-lapping colours between face and hair.

FINISHING STEPS
Create 2 (two) new layers, rename : LIPS, and EYES.
FOR THE LIPS :
  1. Zoom in to the lips.
[work with FACE layer]
  1. Image >> Brightness >> Contrast
[work with LIPS layer]
  1. Brush Tool (smaller brush)
  2. Pick colour : Red.
  3. Brush/draw the lips.
  4. Blending Option : “Multiply”.
  5. If needed, you may also have to erase the area between the lips.
FOR THE EYES :
  1. Pick colour : Blue.
[work with EYES layer]
  1. Brush Tool.
  2. Brush/draw the eye-lids.
  3. Blending Option : “Multiply”.
